In plaats van je te richten op negatieve dingen, helpt het je om je te richten op de positieve aspecten van het leven. Op deze manier, nadat je vaker in je dagboek hebt geschreven, leer je jezelf opnieuw hoe je oog kunt hebben voor en je kunt richten op de goede dingen die het leven te bieden heeft. Dit kan helpen, zelfs als je met veel tegenslag te maken hebt.<\/p>\n<p>Onderzoek heeft aangetoond dat mensen die regelmatig dankbaarheid beoefenen, zelfs voor een korte tijd, verschillende voordelen hebben. Het is aangetoond dat het positiviteit verhoogt, het gevoel van eigenwaarde verbetert, je helpt beter te slapen, je gelukkiger maakt en stress vermindert. Dit kunnen ondersteunende relaties zijn, opofferingen of bijdragen die anderen voor je hebben gedaan, feiten over je leven zoals je voordelen en kansen, of zelfs dankbaarheid voor het leven zelf en de wereld waarin we leven. In al deze gevallen identificeer je aspecten van je leven die voorheen niet werden gewaardeerd en waarvoor je dankbaar kunt zijn. Probeer dit proces regelmatig voor jezelf te herhalen (bijvoorbeeld \u00e9\u00e9n keer per week). Het kan wat oefening vergen, maar als je hier een gewoonte van maakt, leer je hoe je aspecten van je leven die voorheen niet werden gewaardeerd, kunt identificeren. Je zult al snel de positieve effecten voelen van het schrijven van een dankbaarheidsdagboek.
